Hot Rain Beats Cold Rain...Hands Down

Sunday 3rd October 2010

Bangkok greated us with plenty of the wet stuff - around 13 hours non-stop to begin! Smiling but exhausted, with heavy tropical rain in our faces (pretty refreshing) we arrived at Sawasdee House around 10pm (if not a little woken up thanks to our first Thai taxi driver, who lets just say WAS not a "slow lane" kinda Cabbie!)

680BHT bought us a small, dimley lit box, with a bed like actual concrete (discussions were had in regards to swapping the 'bed' for the floor)...if we learned nothing else within our first 2 hours of being in Thailand, then at least we now knew NEVER to believe what we saw on a website! But with our own bathroom and AC...hey, at least were here :) :) :)

The next whistle-stop 48 hours in Bangkok were nothing less than eventful - Choking traffic, countless tuk-tuk ("hey lady - you take Tuk-tuk?"), rice, noodles (many containing unknown ingrediants), the music, the rain, the smoke, the heat, more heat, some more rain, 1 thai massage, 1 gym session, 2 hostels, one fan that sounded like a helicopter, hot shower, cold shower, a-million-and-one Koh San gangsters ("ping-Pong show sir?", "we make NICE suit for you"), shopping, seeing, smelling....a-sore neck-from-looking...

...PHEW...now some sleeping - Bangkok is nothing short of MENTAL...and a bit weird...ok, VERY weird...wierd but captivatingly wonderful :) :)
